The Dubai Health Authority conducts an evaluation for all health professionals prior to practice in the Emirates of Dubai. The DHA examination is a licensing exam given to all medical aspirants including dentists, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, radiographers, allied healthcare, and so on.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) made in June 2007 endeavour to deliver an accessible, productive and integrated healthcare system to protect public health and enhance life within the Emirates. Healthcare professionals are compulsory to pass the DHA examination in order to obtain a professional license and practice their corresponding profession in the Dubai Emirates. After qualifying for the examination, the candidate can practice in each emirate without any additional tests or exams.
Applying for a professional license can unnecessarily take a long time and even completely fail if done incorrectly. The DHA evaluation is a 2-hour examination consisting of 70 multiple choice questions with one best answer. A candidate is expected to correct at least 42 questions. That means 60 percent is your passing score in the DHA exam.
If you pass the online written examination with multiple-choice questions (Prometric), the eligibility letter will be issued to you for a one-year period of time from the date of result. In very rare cases, if the professional license is not issued during this time period the exam result will be considered void and null and the candidate will have to attend another exam.
If you fail the DHA examination, you will be required to apply again to re-attend the exam. The total number of attempts allowed is three. There is no time restriction between exam re-attending dates. After all three attempts, the candidates will not be permitted to reapply for a DHA license unless proof of training or proof of upgrading relevant qualifications is provided.
